24-120 nikon

Nikon Optical 18-105/24-120?

I have read several comments about the Nikon 24-120 that are negative to say the least. Most 18-105 reviews are favorable, I'm hoping that some of the people who have given me good advice as above can clean the air back to me. Thanks

Answer Short: Get the 18-105. The most negative part of the 24-120 is the sharpness of the image. There is a sharp lens at all, and if you like razor sharp image, is an ultimatum. On the other hand, the 18-105 uses a plastic mount, and lacks a focus distance indicator, it does not matter much considering the price of one of this objective (plastic Mounting can be a problem if you use a D2X and likes to hold the camera by the lens, otherwise looks quite sturdy).
