Does the X70 Pentax digital zoom?

I know it has 24x optical zoom. Is any part of that digital technology?

Hi Brenton, none of the X70 Pentax 24x optical zoom digital zoom. However, the X70 also has a digital zoom which extends beyond the 24x optical zoom. The optical zoom equivalent to 26mm – 624mm. That's 24x. Digital zoom extands than the equivalent of 3,900 mm. The digital zoom range from 624mm – 3,900 mm is 6.25x. This makes the zoom range 150x total (24 x 6.25, or 26 mm – 3.900 mm). Note that digital zoom is for cultivation, which could do yourself anyway. Personally, I prefer to harvest at the latest crop in the camera, in case you change your mind about exactly how much you want to crop. Pentax marketing 'calls the X70 digital zoom of "Intelligent Zoom". That could mean doing the interpolation to improve the digital zoom (cropped) picture. But again, you can do it yourself in the post-processing. Greg happy shooting
