What is the difference between a wide range of angle converter and a wide angle lens?

I have a Canon Rebel XT and wanted to get a wide angle, I was just wondering what is the difference between the converter and the full wide-angle lens? Ive seen the wide angle, but there seems so exspensive … Is there a quality difference in a converter box? And it's better to get a lens or lens converter real full? Maybe some good places to buy these lenses?

A wide angle lens replaced (temporarily) to their standard lens, while a converter wide angle screws in the front of the goal current (which requires that you obtain the right based on the filter thread on the front of your lens). If it were that simple we would all converters using wide angle and not have market for wide-angle lens, however there is, why? Well, the reason is very simple, each wide angle converter I have seen the aberration color causes horrendous. This means that the colors of light not addressed properly, and especially at the edges of the image and edges of the picture you can see the colors of separation. You can use this for artistic effect, but with little control, is more often just a nuisance and makes your photos worthless! Even the best range lens angle will show some chromatic aberration, but so far much less than a wide-angle converter will.
